Mission Statement :

Uncharted is a faith-based EAPD program that uses natural horsemanship and activities with horses to nurture the skills needed in daily relationship, critical thinking, and developing response-ability rather than reactivity in trauma survivors.

The vision of Uncharted EAPD is to find stillness rather than silence; softness rather than reluctant surrender. EAPD uses activities with horses to generate an experience that is unique to every participant, despite the fact that there are universal instructions. Participants grow in awareness of their innate body language as they soon discover that this is the primary language of a horse.

The Relationship:

In a day and age where words are so frequently used that their meaning is often cheapened, participants learn to communicate with distinction, clarity, and precision; because it is necessary for the balanced health of their relationship with the horse. It causes them to first become intrinsically aware of their own emotions, thoughts, and body language often times bringing to the surface a need to address the way we ourselves are functioning in our own relationships.

Navigating the heart through the language of the horse

“Nothing reached into the depths of my pain, my attempts at survival, my ache, the way that a horse did. Nothing called out my disingenuous attempts at relationship, the way a horse did. Nothing asked me to fight to become healthy enough to lead well, the way a horse did. But only a Savior could turn what horses taught me into how He could heal me.”
